Flames bring back the 2004 Black C for four games
Calgary will wear the throwback once against each of its 2004 playoff opponents, starting Oct. 24 against Detroit.
The Flames are resurrecting the 2004 sweater. Calgary unveiled a replica of its 2003-04 red home uniform on Tuesday night before the preseason game against Vancouver, with Robyn Regehr and Martin Gelinas on hand, per Daily Faceoff's Mike Gould.
It's the black Flaming C, the Blasty shoulder patch, the chevron striping and the front drawstrings. The Flames will wear it four times, once against each opponent from that 2004 playoff run: Oct. 24 vs. Detroit, Dec. 26 vs. Vancouver, Dec. 29 vs. San Jose and Jan. 9 vs. Tampa Bay.
Replicas hit the team store Oct. 23.
