Vladar leaves Flyers' preseason game in Boston with upper-body injury
Philadelphia's starter couldn't pick up his stick after a collision with Tanner Jeannot, and Kolosov finished a 5-1 loss.
Flyers goalie Dan Vladar left Tuesday's preseason game in Boston with an upper-body injury late in the first period, and Philadelphia announced he wouldn't return. Per Daily Faceoff's Tyler Kuehl, Vladar kicked out a rebound on a dump-in and was bumped by Tanner Jeannot while chasing the puck, with Jeannot catching his right arm.
Vladar couldn't pick up his stick, Michael Eyssimont scored on the sequence, and Aleksei Kolosov took over. Boston won 5-1.
Vladar went 29-14-7 with a 2.42 goals-against average last season and signed a five-year, $27.5 million extension over the summer that kicks in next year, per Yahoo Sports.
Ferda read: Philadelphia's whole plan for 2026-27 runs through this guy, so "wouldn't return" from a preseason game is the last phrase Rick Tocchet wanted to hear in September. Right arm, the one holding the stick. No update from the team yet, and the season opens in a week.
